The Night We were Crowned The Champion

Zombies are Champions

What a finale!! PLK Zombies finally won their first BNST after beating Black Arrows 8-4. More details later.

Kalai - Men’s MVP

Night of the unexpected. Zombies crowned champion

The night of 20.07.2007. Lots of things happened that night, starts with a calm evening then turn to a heavy downpour, together with the very strong wind that blew banners away, uprooted trees etc not forgetting the raging thunders. It was scary even for me.

But the most important unexpected thing was that PLK Zombies was crowned the champion of the 2nd Brunei National Softball Tournament. Its been a while the zombiezians didnt lift any trophy, but when they did, it was glorious. The BNST was the only tournament in Brunei that played the final game at night, so to be there was wonderful. It is currently WELL organized by Banzai softball team. The best softball tournament organizer so far.

Oh well, the zombiezians were relaxed yet focused. They bat first, but in the first inning they didnt manage to score a run, and managed to score one in the top 2nd. Still relaxed and fully focused they just played the game while losing knowledge of the score n innings played, trust me I was there. They only knew about the score during the bottom 5th when they were leading 7-1.

They played well that night, managed by they're in game manager MB, marshalled by their pitcher kalai (later received the MVP award), supported by the best supporters, powered by their dug-outs. The Arrows tried to fight back, but its just a little too late for them when they scored 3 runs in the bottom 7th, after a bit dispute with the 1st base umpire. The game ended PLK Zombies 8-4 Black Arrows.

Well done, congratulations zombiezians, you all deserved to be the champion. To the supporters thank you for letting us know that you are around. Your supports really lifts us up. To the organizer, Hope Banzai softball team will organize this prestigous tournament again next year.

There will be lucky draws to be won for spectators and there will also be a ticket sponsored by RBA. Tonight hopefully will be action packed match. Good luck to the finalist.

The BNST Final

The ladies Final will be held this wednesday night between Go-Divas and Pasadena, I just want to say good luck for both team. My main concern is the men's final on the night of 20.07.2007, between PLK Zombies against Black Arrows. It is a well anticipated match where lots of people want-ing the arrows, the defending champs to win. Good luck to both teams especially Zombies, my team...... Am I getting bias here.... well I hope so..... I hope the zombiezians win the match with style..... and I hope that the zombiezians entertain the crowds with their players trademarks. To the fans.... the zombies fans..... please wear red that night...... lets make it a blood red night. Lets makes the zombies really really hungry for victory. Go Zombies, go Zombies............

Brunei National Softball Tournament 3rd and 4th Placing

The ladies match was between Comets against Wildcats, where people expected the cats to win. the ladies played their game in the scorching heat of Brunei afternoon, by the time I arrived it was already in the middle of 2nd innings, at that time, the score was Comets 17-0 wildcats. The Wildcats try to claw back into the game, but comets defense managed to hold on to win 23-9.

The Comets celebrating. Congrats Comets.....

The men's match was held at night between Gregors and Gunners. Purposedly I chose this hazy photos, because there were too many controversy, which made me left early, I managed to see the not supposedly an in the park homerun by gunners batter Abas "blink-blink", thanks to the unsportsmanslike conduct by the Gregors right fielder. Anyway the game was won by the Gunners 13-5. Congrats Gunners......
